Technical Principles of Fasteners

May 05, 2026 Leave a message

Fasteners are indispensable fundamental components in mechanical manufacturing and construction engineering; their core function is to ensure the overall stability and safety of a structure by connecting, securing, or locking two or more parts together.

Fasteners achieve connections through friction, mechanical interlocking, or preload, with designs that balance strength, corrosion resistance, and ease of installation. For instance, bolts engage with nuts, utilizing axial force generated by rotation to clamp components tightly; rivets undergo plastic deformation to fill the connection hole, creating a permanent bond; and snap-fit fasteners rely on elastic deformation to enable rapid assembly and disassembly.
