With the global economy remaining sluggish and overseas export trade in a slump, many fastener enterprises-both domestic and international-are facing severe challenges. Accelerating economic transformation and structural upgrading is an urgent priority, and expanding into overseas markets is undoubtedly a crucial path forward for the industry.
While the fastener industry's growth rate may slow from the fourth quarter of 2011 through the first half of 2012 due to external conditions, the outlook improves from the third quarter of 2012 onwards. Factors such as the implementation of new policies, the convening of the 18th National Congress, and a series of upcoming development initiatives are expected to drive further industry growth. Furthermore, the industry must persist in innovation and structural transformation. By closely aligning with key sectors-such as automotive, new energy, aerospace, shipbuilding, urban transportation, IT, electronics and electrical appliances, and construction-the industry can accelerate product optimization and upgrading, thereby fostering healthy and steady development across the entire sector. The global fastener market exceeds $50 billion in value, and China's total fastener output for 2012 is projected to reach approximately 6.8 million tons. However, a significant gap remains between my country's fastener industry and that of manufacturing powerhouses like the United States and Japan.
